Job Title: Swindon City of Sanctuary Project Coordinator
Hours of work: 16 hours per week (52 weeks per annum; 25 days’ annual holiday pro rata plus public holidays)
Salary: up to £9,152 per annum for 16 hours per week (based on full time salary of £20,020 per annum)
Contract: Fixed Term 6 months. (Subject to passing a one-month probationary period)

We’re looking for a Project Coordinator to work in collaboration with Swindon Schools and other local organisations in the wider community. You will coordinate and expand developments of the existing Swindon City of Sanctuary Family Activity Boxes (FABs) Extensions Project.

Main duties and responsibilities
- Working alongside the Charity Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, Trustees and Volunteers, to develop the Family Activity Boxes (FAB) project
- Encouraging welcome and inclusion by involving more organisations to participate in the FAB Project.
- Managing admin related tasks including tracking progress and outcomes of the project
- Attending relevant induction and agreed training opportunities to broaden your knowledge, understanding and skills
- Working collaboratively and independently
- Working together with the Charity Manager to communicate the project’s impact with our supporters, participants and funders
- Working together with people within our culturally diverse community who have:
- lived experience of seeking sanctuary
- lived experience of migration
- lived experience of cultural marginalisation
We have an active board of 10 trustees at present, some of whom have been with us since we began. As our Charity Manager, you’ll be reporting to our Chair of Trustees, with additional help, support and engagement from other members of the Board.
Key experience / skills required
You must have a willingness to learn about the UK asylum system and current issues affecting people with lived experience of asylum / migration / cultural marginalisation.
You must be able to collaborate with, motivate and inspire others.
You need to share passion and enthusiasm about the aims of Swindon City of Sanctuary and the City of Sanctuary UK movement
You should have an awareness of and willingness to learn more about Swindon’s rich cultural diversity.
You need to have exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work effectively without constant supervision.
Ideally, you’ll have a genuine interest in the issues affecting people seeking sanctuary in the UK.

Hours and location
The Trustees of Swindon City of Sanctuary are open to flexibility around the precise work pattern of the role in terms of hours and location. We encourage a mix of home working and office working. We have an office in central Swindon, but you may need to travel around the town for meetings – we encourage use of public transport whenever possible.
The role is offered as a fixed term part-part time (16 hours per week for six months) position.
Salary and benefits
The actual pro rata salary for this role will be 9,152 per annum.
We offer up to 25 days holiday per annum (plus public holidays) and a contributory pension scheme.
